The Caribbean’s top destination for British tourists is currently Jamaica. The vibrant Caribbean island, which is well-known for its friendly people, outspoken character, and larger-than-life spirit, continues to welcome a record number of visitors from the UK. In fact, visitor arrivals in 2022 will break previous records, propelling the island to the top spot in the Caribbean for British tourists.

The island’s distinctive culture, food, music, breathtaking natural beauty, and health offers have been highlighted by Jamaica’s bold tourism recovery strategy, which has resulted in historic levels of visitor arrivals from the UK market. The plan is also environmentally sustainable.

Jamaica is luring more attractive hotel brands to the island, boosting its room stock, and offering an additional 8,500 rooms by 2025.

This is because there is still potential for expansion and to satisfy the anticipated demand, which is predicted to keep rising. The Hard Rock Hotel, RIU, Dreams, Secrets, Planet Hollywood, Viva Wyndham, UNICO, and Princess are just a few of the new hotels that will be debuting.

To accommodate the ongoing demand and interest in our stunning island, we are putting the finishing touches on our most ambitious tourism development and growth plan in Jamaican history.

At the 2017 World Travel Awards, the Jamaica Tourist Board was named the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board for 2022. With daily direct flights on Virgin Atlantic Airways from London Heathrow beginning in December 2022, British Airways from London Gatwick, and TUI from Birmingham, Gatwick, and Manchester, the island is easily reachable from the UK.

We are thrilled that Jamaica is the most popular Caribbean destination for visitors from the UK, and we want to express our gratitude to all of our business partners for their unwavering belief in our idyllic island.

Our campaign this year is “Come Back to Jamaica,” come back for relaxation, adventure, and romance, and Brits continue to do so. Our team has an exciting lineup of plans for 2023 and is optimistic that we can continue to grow our destination’s favorability among UK travelers in 2023.
