The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has unveiled a new five-year tourism plan to develop its status as a regional tourism destination.

A similar trip to Qatar follows earlier this month, with Saudi Arabia embarking on a similar process to its Vision 2030 plan.

These three plans emerge as Middle Eastern countries prepare for a future without funding from natural resources.

Nasser Qaeda, CEO of BTEA, said: “We are promoting our partnership with the UK market to encourage travelers to relive the exciting and thrilling experience of the country.

“Our new tourism plan includes several developments designed to attract business and leisure travelers from marine, recreational marine, sports, recreational and fitness travel to heritage travel, advertising, and MICE business travel.

“Using this multi-pillar system, we wanted to highlight the country on the world tourism map as a unique and new place that combines development and world experience.”

The country is preparing to open two new restaurants, with the opening of the Vida Beach Resort Marassi Al Bahrain in the fourth quarter of this year and the launch of Marassi Al which will open early next year.

The resort will be an important part of a larger development known as the Marassi Al Bahrain development, a full-fledged urban and residential complex located in Marassi, changing the coast of the country.

Gulf Coast, Galali Beach & Seaside, and Al Ghous Seaside will follow.

This event will transform the coast of Bahrain into a tourist destination.

Bahrain’s new International Conference & Exhibition Center will also open in the second half of 2022, offering magnificent venues in the Middle East.

In partnership with Southall Travel, Expedia, Gulf Air, and Opodo, BTEA will launch Discover the Treasures of the country in the UK.

It will go on until the end of the year.

Designed to educate businesses and consumers through social media and digital services, it reflects the depth and breadth of the experience in this country.

The campaign includes content and videos, as well as vacation packages with microwave ads and a lightbox to increase bookings, increase visits and raise awareness of Bahrain as the first choice of the year.

The microwave campaign also has a Bahrain entry card on Gulf Air, Bahrain’s airline, which contains new Covid-19 standards, new routes, and information on Bahrain’s flights twice a day.

The country will finally open the 2022 FI Formula 1 World Championship at BIC from 18-20 March.

The Gulf of Bahrain Grand Prix will start with 23 colors during the new tournament.

The 2022 race of the fourth season of Formula 1 will start in the country and the ninth season will take place overnight under the modern flood.
