The European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) has declared Spain the safest place in the entire EU, given the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ECDC has collected data suggesting that much of Spain is unsafe. It also means that in recent weeks there have been fewer than 50 out of 100,000 people living in each region. It is also reported that the positive rate in this area does not exceed 4%.

Currently, these areas are marked Green in Spain:

  • Galicia
  • Asturia
  • Cantabria
  • Basque Country
  • La Rioja
  • Castile and Leon
  • Extremes
  • Andalusia

Some other areas of Spain will be called Orange, but it is considered safe to travel because the number of people infected is small. It has been reported that Spain has been performing well and has a COVID-19 infection with strict travel rules and internal safety procedures. While Spain encourages both domestic and foreign tourists, it is recommended that you take all necessary precautions and check your local policies. The country also has a critical list of countries in the EU; Some of the names on the Spanish list are Germany, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Denmark.
