Turkey has issued updated quarantine guidelines for fully vaccinated travelers visiting the country from India and Nepal.

The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi has released the updated guidelines recently. Sharing the details in a Twitter post, the Embassy added that as per the new rules, all passengers will be required to submit a negative RT-PCR test report which has been taken not before 72 hours of arrival in the transcontinental country.

As per the updated guidelines, which will come into effect on November 15, travelers entering the country Turkey from India and Nepal, along with those who have been in these countries in the past 14 days, will also be subjected to the latest measures.

Reports have it that to get exemption from mandatory quarantine in Turkey, those who have been fully vaccinated with both the doses of vaccines that have been approved by WHO or Turkish authorities and 14 days have elapsed since the last dose, will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a vaccine certificate. Further, both Covaxin and Covishield are approved vaccines for travel to Turkey

According to the reports, travelers who fail to provide the vaccine certificate will have to undergo quarantine in Turkey for 10 days, and also undergo mandatory RT-PCR tests during the period. If the test returns negative on the 10th day, their quarantine period will end, and they will be able to move around freely. However, if found positive, the visitors will undergo treatment following the COVID-19 guidelines of the Ministry of Health. Further, the quarantine period for those travelers will be 14 days, who fail to take an RT-PCR on the 10th day of isolation.

As per the updated guidelines, passengers or young travelers, traveling with their parents, and are between the age of 12 and 18, who cannot certify that they have been fully vaccinated, will be required to submit a negative RT-PCR test report that has been taken within 72 hours before arrival in Turkey.

Moreover, kids under the age of 12 will be exempted from PCR test and vaccination certificate application on entry. Also, take note that the updated quarantine guidelines do not apply to transit and/or transfer passengers.
